A Dream Come True: Our Unforgettable Experience at the Canberra Circus Festival

It’s been a few days since we returned from the Canberra Circus Festival, and the memories are still fresh and magical. We couldn’t have made this incredible journey without the support of our generous community. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who believed in our young performers and helped make their circus dreams a reality!

The festival was a phenomenal success, filled with mesmerizing performances and unforgettable experiences. Our troupe was among 70 young participants, plus chaperones and trainers, all taken care of by the amazing volunteers and staff from Warehouse Circus. In total, we were a family of 120 circus enthusiasts!

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the talented trainers – all professional circus performers – for their time, dedication, and gracious generosity. They shared their skills and passion with our students, inspiring them to reach new heights.

Igniting passions and Forging Connections: The Power of Circus Arts

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the talented trainers - all professional circus performers - for their time, dedication, and gracious generosity. They shared their skills and passion with our students, inspiring them to reach new heights.

The shows and performances were simply breath taking. We were lucky to witness the incredible talents of Rooke who brought their show Interloper, Mo Ko with Oat Milk and Honey, Wildhouse Circus with their act Party Pooper, Suitcase Circus, Secret Circus Show with Her Majesty’s Secret Circus, Sparkle Society with Cab Suave, Dr Hubble’s Bubbles, Pablo Latona with The Ridiculous show, and Sian Brigid, and Samora Squid who brought an eye-opening sideshow performance for adults only.  All these international performers brought their acts, spoke with and/or trained our troupe members along with teachers from the Flying Fruit Flies, Gravity and Other Myths and NICA. We are absolutely filled with gratitude for their time, patience and kindness over the week that was Canberra Circus Festival.

Students at Canberra Circus Festival preparing for 3 highs

Our troupe was captivated by the diverse array of circus disciplines showcased at the festival. They were introduced to the German Wheel, Teeterboard, and 3 highs.  Worked hard on their duo acrobatics and trapeze, hooping, juggling, and so much more. The festival opened their eyes to the endless possibilities within the world of circus arts.

One of the most valuable takeaways from the festival was the lasting connections and friendships forged with fellow circus enthusiasts from across the East Coast of Australia. This incredible network of like-minded individuals will continue to support and inspire one another in the pursuit of their circus dreams.
