We’re giving you permission to be ridiculous! Alicia’s Clown Institute workshops are back. Join us for a 5-hour Sunday session of play and creativity.

Alicia Gonzalez didn’t come to clowning for the gags. She found it after drama school when anxiety and self-doubt jammed the gears. Movement, then clown, cracked things open, and at Paris’ École Jacques Lecoq she learned clowning as a path to freedom, not perfection. Now she teaches others to peel off the “serious” mask and play again.
At The Clown Institute, clowning is framed as a form of liberation, encompassing emotional, physical, mental, and creative expression. The whole package. Alicia’s work spans major festivals (Sydney, Melbourne Comedy, Adelaide Fringe) and even hospital rounds as “Dr. Ding Dong.” Still, her favourite stage might be a room full of grown-ups rediscovering their ridiculous.
