Get inside the May Hoola Hoop Scoop
Hello, lovely humans, Last month was World Circus Day, and we celebrated it the only way we know how. We invited everyone to come and make noise, get involved in some healthy circus olympics competition, and immerse themselves in circus play. It was a busy day, but at some point during all of it, I looked around and thought, this is exactly what the world needs right now. I know things are hard. The cost of everything is up, the news is heavy, people are stretched and tired i

Millie Is Only 3 But Shes Our Student Spotlight!!!
And heres why..... With her circus journey starting at just 2 years old, Millie and her family have made circus their lifestyle.... here's what Millies' awesome mum Belinda has to say.... Millie is completely and utterly obsessed with all things circus—and has been since the grand old age of 2. What started as a curiosity very quickly turned into a full-blown lifestyle. Now at 3, circus isn’t just something she does… it’s who she is. If there’s a circus show in town, Millie i

ALIAS Cabaret is back. And this year, it's Y2K Tease.
ALIAS Cabaret is back, it's adults-only, and this year it's Y2K Tease. Consider yourself warned. ALIAS Cabaret is our adults-only showstopper, and last year we sold out before we'd had a chance to look sideways. This year, we're taking you back to the turn of the millennium. The dial-up days. The mixtape magic, and that beautiful chaos of the 90s and 2000s. Remember the Y2K panic? The whole world held its breath waiting to see what would happen when the clock ticked over to t

Get inside the April Hoola Hoop Scoop
Hello, lovely humans, I know there is a lot of happening in the world right now and many people are carrying heavy hearts and uncertainty. A few years ago, I decided that when things are seeming out of balance in the world, I want to double down on focusing on bringing more joy, celebrating the wins and reminding myself and others that even when things are tough and we feel the weight of the world, there is SO MUCH GOOD in our community. So here are some of my positive refle

The show must go on | Celebrating Tina and welcoming Angie
Take a well-deserved bow, Tina Tina first came to Roundabout as a student about eight years ago, doing acro yoga with Zoe. She was already one of us before she ever had a title here. Then, in 2021, she came on as an admin assistant and helped us transition our booking systems in a time of flux. Her systems brain was exactly what we needed at the time. Tina then joined the board, and has since has covered Rachel's maternity leave as operations manager and showed up every sing

Our Student Spotlight is on Irene!!
Two years in, and still finding new things to love about circus. That's Irene in a nutshell. She joined the Roundabout community about two years ago. Starting with aerials as her gateway obsession. Since then, she's tried new skills, come to all the community events, made her own props, shared her journey on Band, and cheered on the people around her. Irene is a ray of sunshine, rainbows and pure joyful self-expression. We love having her and her family visit us at various ev

Our AGM is not a boring meeting
Our AGM Performance night is a celebration and we are doing it Circus-style Our Annual General Meeting might have chairs in rows, but it's not a 'suit and tie', 'minutes & lectern' kind of evening. At Roundabout, the AGM is part of our Tea & Circus End of Term performance night, where reporting back to our community happens under stage lights and sometimes mid air. In past years we have delivered the CEO report from a trapeze, had our Treasurer share the financials alongside

Nine wonderful years of Roundabout
January saw us celebrate a mammoth nine years of Roundabout Circus. Nine years of classes, performances, friendships, growth and plenty of upside-down moments along the way. Thanks to everyone who came to discover what we do, and to our community who've been with us for all or part of our nine years, and helped us celebrate. Despite the weather, we had a wonderful day. Families, adults, curious first-timers and long-time circus friends moved through the studio all day. The ri

Get inside the March Hoola Hoop Scoop
Welcome back, everyone! It feels like we blinked and suddenly everyone’s back at school, back at work and straight into the rhythm of the year. We’ve already hit the ground running at Roundabout, and I have to say, it’s shaping up to be another busy and exciting year. We kicked things off by celebrating our 9th birthday, which still feels slightly surreal. Nine years of building this community, watching students grow up in the studio and seeing circus become a regular part of
