Merry Circusmas - 23000 reasons to smile this year
Hi Circus family and friends, As the year wraps up, I’ve finally had a quiet moment to think about what this year at Roundabout has really been. As our first full year in our new studio, It’s been big, busy, and genuinely beautiful. And it is all made possible by a lot of people showing up. Again and again. With care, energy and belief in what circus can do. This year our Roundabout Circus team delivered more than 500 circus events and classes across the Central Coast. From

Get inside the December Hoola Hoop Scoop
December always arrives like a circus inside the circus. A big energy, big lists, big smiles, and the occasional moment of “wait, what day is it again?” But in a strange way, this time of year always reminds me why Roundabout feels so special. It’s busy because people show up. It’s chaotic because community matters. Behind the scenes, Andy and I are juggling everything from preschool graduations and costume boxes to van repairs and Google Drive mysteries, all while getting re

Isabelle has us Hooked | Student Spotlight Youth Circus Gosford
At Roundabout, our students don’t just learn circus skills. They discover confidence, creativity and connection, and they find a place where they truly belong. This month’s Student Spotlight shines on Isabelle, one of our young adults whose courage and creativity recently helped bring Neverland to life. Isabelle had been working on building a crocodile costume out of recycled materials and was going to perform as the puppet master of Nanna the dog and the crocodile character

The Playful Plate Comes to the Coast
Sometimes a project comes along that feels like circus without ever stepping inside the studio. Something brave, unexpected, playful, and built entirely on human connection. That’s exactly what’s arriving on the Central Coast this December. The Playful Plate is a tiny outdoor restaurant with nothing to eat and everything to feel. Created by Alicia Gonzalez and Gordon & Gonzalez and supported by Central Coast Council’s Creative Art Central program, it’s a gentle experiment in

Sinead's first GLOWFEST was a weekend of circus, community and new skills
There are many circus and flow arts festivals around Australia and the world. The closest to us is GLOWFEST , which has been running for five years now. And we're proud to say Roundabout has sponsored this incredible event since 2022. Several of our team teach, perform, rig and participate in the festival. This year, the GLOWFEST circus festival moved two hours closer to us, which meant more of our beautiful Roundabout Circus community could attend, including one of our stud

Get inside the Hoola Hoop Scoop
Hi lovely humans, It's been a big few weeks at Roundabout. We’ve been in the thick of it, and I’m proud of what our community managed to pull together. Between shows, holiday workshops, events and regular classes, we have created over 1000 smiles in October. Wowser! We're just coming down from the high of our Neverland weekend . My favourite bit was watching everyone back each other through the chaos, including a last-minute cast change, and a few health bugs our students ha

We hooked Gosford’s heart in Neverland
The week before our Neverland circus show at our Gossy home was one of those wild, wonderful circus weeks where everything felt impossible, until it wasn’t. A few performers and crew got sick. One lead role had to be replaced while stage props were still being finished. And yet, this team made it happen. When Hook suddenly became an empty spot on the cast list, teen performer and team member Isabelle stepped up to the captain's quarters. Isabelle learned the entire role in l

Meet Lana. Playfulness in performance
Our November Roundabout Circus spotlight shines on Lana . Lana joined Roundabout as a young teen and has grown into a performer who lights up every stage. She’s curious, courageous, and full of heart. Everything we love to see in our community. At this year’s Bend the Air aerial competition in Newcastle, Lana wowed the judges with her Puss in Boots act, a playful, character-filled trapeze routine packed with storytelling and charm. Her coach, Hunnah, said Lana poured her he

Smiles All Round in Canberra
Well, it's been a minute since our Performance Troupe took more than their juggling skills to the Canberra Circus Festival . But wow, did they learn, embracing what we represent at Roundabout—lots of curiosity, courage, and connection. Our troupe’s cups are overflowing after a week of workshops, mentoring and coaching from circus artists all over Australia. We swapped tricks, shared laughs, tried new skills and soaked up ideas. For some of our troupe, it was their first time
