Get inside the May Hoola Hoop Scoop

Hello, lovely humans,

Last month was World Circus Day, and we celebrated it the only way we know how. We invited everyone to come and make noise, get involved in some healthy circus olympics competition, and immerse themselves in circus play. It was a busy day, but at some point during all of it, I looked around and thought, this is exactly what the world needs right now.

I know things are hard. The cost of everything is up, the news is heavy, people are stretched and tired in ways that feel bigger than usual. I'm not going to pretend that circus fixes any of that. But I genuinely believe that an hour of laughing and learning and being in a room full of people who are cheering for each other does something important to a person. It's a good reminder that we're not alone, fun is still available, and that the importance of community is real. Especially on the Central Coast where are part of a beautiful ecosystem of people who care about each other and the world. That's the hidden secret that we all know, but maybe forget at times like this. When things feel like you can't do big things for the world, you can still do small things for your neighbour.

And May feels like a bit of a party season, so we're leaning into it to keep our spirits high!

Our amazing adult performers take us into the early 2000's this Sat

I cannot believe this Saturday is already here. ALIAS is back, and this time we are going full Y2K. Aerial, burlesque, fire, throwback bangers you absolutely forgot you loved, prizes for the best Y2K outfit, and Dan's Jerk Joint food truck from 6pm.

This is going to be such a good night, and we'd love to see you there. Grab your tickets and dig out something truly questionable from the early 2000s to wear, because you might just win a prize.

And Sunday, we have the Gosford Block Party

The first of its kind for Gosford, this is a party you don't want to miss. The Central Coast Block Party is run by a brand new initiative, The Gosford Strip Precinct, who are super passionate about growing our Gosford community. For one unforgettable day and night, Mann Street between Donnison Street (The Archibald) and Erina Street (Hotel Gosford) will transform into a buzzing, pedestrian-first playground. We'll be there between 12.30 pm and 1 pm at the community stage at the Erina Street end of Mann Street, in front of the Optus screen area. Come find us and say hello! And get behind this fantastic program.

Big news. Very big news!

I've been sitting on some very exciting news, and I am so ready to say it out loud. Roundabout Circus is performing at Laycock Street Community Theatre in July. For everyone who's been watching our students grow and our community build over the past eight years, this one is for you. I am not giving away all the details just yet because the reveal deserves to land the way it should, but watch this space and save the date of 17th July. We would love to have you there!

Bunnings Cake Sale | We genuinely need your help

On 17 May, we're running a Bunnings Cake Sale, and we genuinely need your help. If you have an oven and any willingness at all to use it for the greater good of community circus, please reach out. Cakes, slices, biscuits, tray bakes, whatever you do best. Every dollar we raise goes straight back into keeping Roundabout going for this community. Turn up on the day with something delicious, and we will be so grateful. And we will absolutely brag about your baking. You can also drop off any treats from Friday at Circus.

You can see everything that is on in May right here.

We are not us without you.

Thank you for being part of our community and making Roundabout Circus possible.

Rachel, Andy, and the Roundabout crew
