There are many circus and flow arts festivals around Australia and the world. The closest to us is GLOWFEST, which has been running for five years now. And we're proud to say Roundabout has sponsored this incredible event since 2022. Several of our team teach, perform, rig and participate in the festival. This year, the GLOWFEST circus festival moved two hours closer to us, which meant more of our beautiful Roundabout Circus community could attend, including one of our students and part-time employees, Sinead. Here's a short reflection from Sinead on her first time at GLOWFEST. She even got roped into teaching a beginner Lyra workshop when someone wasn't available. Talk about adaptability!

As a first-timer at GLOWFEST, I found the experience really inspiring and an awesome way to meet more like-minded circus people. The festival was held at a Johns River property for the first time (way closer for us coasties), and it was such a beautiful place to share a weekend of fun.
There were workshops each day, and personally, my schedule was filled with learning new skills that I’ve brought home with me.

"The instructors were so skilled, and it was really cool to try out props and aerials we don’t have at Roundabout. I tried out aerial chains, beginner fire-eating, and had some fun on the trapeze."
GLOWFEST has a headliner show with incredibly skilled performers, along with fire-circle nights where anyone can jump in and have a spin, and a renegade show where you can show off some new tricks.
If I wasn’t training new circus tricks, I was walking along the bush trail to the stunning waterfall cascades located on the property.
I had a blast at GLOW, and I’ll for sure be back next year. Definitely recommend!
